Differences between pathscale and PGI FAMOUS jobs on HECToR

Latest HECToR jobs are xdbuc (pathscale) and xdbud (PGI).

Only a couple of changes are required to go from a pathscale to PGI run. The differences between the jobs above are:

  • User-defined compile option overrides:
PGI: $FAMOUS_DIR/overrides/pgi_O2_Kieee_fastsse (to get correct compile options)
  • Ocean GCM → Diagnostics, STASH excluded → MEAD Diagnostics
PGI: Running with MEAD Diagnostics: OFF

Pathscale gives slightly better performance than PGI for FAMOUS and for the UM generally.
