As part of my PhD research I have used HadCM3 with dynamic vegetation (TRIFFID) coupled to Glimmer to investigate the behaviour of the Greenland ice-sheet under past and future climates.  Specifically I have looked at the importance of vegetation feedbacks on the evolution of the ice-sheet during the Last interglacial (LIG) approximately 130 to 115ka and the potential regrowth of the ice-sheet if it completely melted in response to future anthropogenic warming.

As a post-doctoral researcher for the European project past4future I will be using FAMOUS extensively to investigate the following:

* LIG (130 to 120ka) and Present Interglacial (PIG) (6 to 0ka) transient climate simulations
* Sensitivity to applied forcings and feedback during both interglacials including greenhouse gases, ice-sheets, vegetation and orbital forcing
* Evaluation of sensitivity of interglacial climates to sudden freshwater events (specifically the 8.2ka event)
* Sensitivity to solar and volcanic forcings
* Evaluation of the rate of sea-level rise over the PIG/LIG to compare with sea-level reconstructions.  This will use FAMOUS coupled to Glimmer.
